I'm Kieran — I'll Show You Liverpool's Food Scene Beyond the Beatles Tour

My name is Kieran and I grew up in Toxteth. Liverpool has one of the most underrated food cultures in Britain and almost no visitor discovers it. The city has the oldest established Chinese community in Europe — predating the arch in Chinatown by decades — a Yemeni community in the south docks that brought its food with it, a Baltic Triangle district full of independent restaurants and Friday street markets, and the scouse stew that the city is named after and that has been feeding dockworkers here since the 1800s. I take groups across a Friday afternoon: a scouse lunch at a neighbourhood pub that makes it properly, a walk through the Chinese quarter to the restaurant that has been there since before the tourist signage, and the Baltic Triangle market in the evening where the independent food scene lives.
