Born in the Gràcia neighbourhood, the part of Barcelona that most tourists never reach. My family has been doing the tapas circuit on Friday evenings since before I could hold a glass. I know every bar in Gràcia and the Eixample that doesn't charge tourist prices, where the pa amb tomàquet is made with real tomatoes rubbed on the bread instead of ketchup in a tube, and which cervecería has the best draft beer at 11pm when the real evening begins.
