Tony Reyes

I was born in Henderson and grew up in the Las Vegas that doesn't appear on any travel show — the local Mexican restaurants on the east side, the Filipino bakeries in the Spring Valley neighbourhood where half the casino workers live, the 24-hour diner on Flamingo that has been feeding dealers and cocktail waitresses after their 3am shifts since 1981. Las Vegas has a real city underneath the Strip and its food is the working-city food of a place that runs 24 hours a day and employs people from 40 countries. I take people off the Strip and into the city that actually exists.
