Born and raised in the walled city of Lahore, three minutes walk from the Badshahi Mosque. My family has run a nihari dhaba on the same corner of Gawalmandi for 60 years. I know every street food cart from Data Darbar to Heera Mandi, which halwa puri stall opens at 5am, and where to find the best lassi in a city that takes lassi very seriously. Lahore is one of the greatest food cities on earth and almost nobody who visits eats the real thing.
